HIKING

In the heart of Vail Valley, Arrowhead provides central access to some of the most beautiful views of the Rocky Mountain Range accessible by hiking.  In the summertime, wild flowers abound, in the fall the Aspens are getting their signature golden color, and the winter offers lovely views of snow-covered mountain tops and a true Colorado Winter wonderland.

Trails are OPEN for Summer 2024 (unless otherwise posted for maintenance or construction). Vail Valley Mountain Trails Alliance completed a new Apache Trail Extension, connecting to the Ute trail and allowing for the trails to remain open during the ERWSD water main replacement project.

Starting Monday, July 22nd, fire mitigation work will begin in the upper section of the Arrowhead Mountain Trail. Teams from Old Growth Trees will be working in this area over the next couple of weeks Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. The trail will remain open while the work is being completed, but please use caution when hiking or biking in this area.
